Whole Heart Journal - October 2019

In case you missed it, the autumnal equinox was on September 23, so fall is officially and fully upon us. We love this season of cool nights, blowing leaves, and slowing down. And yet, though the winds are mild, they also augur the coming of winter, which will be upon Colorado far too soon. And like the winds of autumn, we at Whole Heart are blowing on and off the road for events, breezing through far too many leafy words writing new books, and gusting around projects and tasks in the office as we move into a new season of ministry. We hope your fall is not so blustery, and that you can breathe deep the autumnal air with your family. Decks and firepits, hot chocolate and cardigans, and balls and dogs were made for fall. And, of course, the harvest foods and feasts will feed the seasonal delights. We plan to slow down a bit here before winter blows in, so we’ll get our full taste of fall. We pray that your fall with family will be all that it promises and more.

NEW BOOKS BY SALLY
Two Releasing in the Next Two Weeks

The Clarkson book machine is working overtime in October. Sally’s first devotional book releases October 8: Mom Heart Moments: Daily Devotions for Lifegiving Motherhood. You’ll find 365 scriptures, short devotional thoughts, and action points—a mom heart moment to get you started right every day for a whole year. Then, two weeks later, Sally’s first children’s book releases on October 22: Only You Can Be You: What Makes You Different Makes You Great. She and Nathan wrote this delightful poem inspired by their book Different. It is a fun and colorful children’s illustrated storybook that poetically celebrates the uniqueness of God’s design for each child. It’s sure to become a “read it again” favorite book for your young children.

EDUCATING THE WHOLHEARTED CHILD
Twenty-Five Years in Print

Twenty-five years ago we launched the first version of our classic Christian home education handbook. That release marked not just a publication date for our first book, but also the official birth-date of Whole Heart Ministries. Last December, we were excited to have Educating the WholeHearted Child and three other books come back home to Whole Heart Press after a decade at Apologia Press. We are happy to let you know that now, after a nine-month absence, the new fourth edition of EWHC is available on Amazon.com in time for the new school year. Later this fall, the new third edition of Sally’s first book, Seasons of a Mother’s Heart, also will be available in time for Christmas. These are core books that started our ministry.

WHOLEHEART.ORG
A New Look and Refreshed Content

WholeHeart.org has recently gone through a mini-makeover. Stop in a take a look! After about three years it needed a cosmetic touch-up or two, but even more it needed a purpose and content refresh. WholeHeart.org started as an informational website for Whole Heart Ministries as an organization, but now it is becoming more of an online hub for our ministries, initiatives, and projects. It’s where you can quickly learn what we’re up to, get links, and even find help. MomHeart.com and Storyformed.com now bring you to new pages on WholeHeart.org. Each of our six key ministry Initiatives has a page there. Soon, we hope to provide an expanded Whole Heart Store. Check it out, and be sure to subscribe to the WH Blog email.
